Opening the Kitchen for Family Gatherings

This 1928 home in Clintonville was full of charm but reflected the era’s smaller, closed-off rooms that are less than ideal for modern-day entertaining. The homeowners dreamed of dinner parties where everyone could visit and cook together, but the original layout made it difficult.

We partnered with them to create a more open floor plan by partially removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room, allowing the two spaces to flow as one. The result was stunning!

The kitchen now features Maple Shaker cabinets in a Stone nish around the perimeter, complemented by a Spice nish on
the island. The island is both functional and distinctive, serving as a connector between the kitchen and dining room while
adding seating for two, perfect for homework, visiting with the chef, or enjoying a quick bite.

When the project was complete, the homeowners welcomed their extended family for dinner and were thrilled when
everyone t comfortably and could be part of the ongoing conversations.
