Advantages of Whole-House Remodeling

A remodel needs proper planning and consideration. Home improvements are generally expensive, time-consuming and disruptive — so why not update all your spaces in one go instead of dealing with them one by one over a long period?

In this post, home renovation specialist Owens Construction discusses the benefits of a whole-house remodel.

Cost-Effective

Doing a whole-house renovation is more cost-effective than remodeling one room at a time. Instead of building your dream home through separate renovations, you can have them done at once and save more money in the long run. The permits and paperwork needed in your remodel require time and money to process. Remember that you’ll be paying for fees and costs separately if you do each project one at a time. Renovating your property as a whole can cut your total costs.

Time-Efficient and Less Disruptive

Remodeling contractors will need time to perform any kind of renovation. If each renovation takes a few days to a week, doing each one separately throughout the year will cost you around three to four weeks of precious time. On the other hand, having your entire home renovated in one big project may reduce the time you need to spend on home improvements.

A whole-house remodel also reduces disruptions to your personal schedule or routine. Remodeling is typically noisy and causes a lot of debris and dust. It might be better for your family to be elsewhere while your contractor works. If you’re planning to remodel four different parts of your home within the year, that could mean you’ll be leaving your home and staying somewhere else four separate times. With a whole-house remodel, you’ll only need to leave and make such preparations once.
