Lead Carpenter

Owens Construction is seeking to hire an experienced, motivated, and professional master carpenter willing to learn and grow with our team. The ideal candidate should possess advanced carpentry skills, be a creative problem solver and enjoy learning new skills. Additionally, the candidate must exhibit the professional aptitude and demeanor to positively interact with clients as well as effectively manage multiple projects, staff carpenters and trade partners. While we expect hard work and professionalism on the job, we truly believe in work/life balance.

Requirements

To be considered, candidates must:

  • Hold a valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation
  • Possess strong framing and carpentry skills
  • Have a minimum of 7-10 years of residential remodeling experience
  • Be able to provide your own basic tools
  • Possess strong communication and customer service skills
  • Work well with others
  • Desire to grow professionally
  • Exhibit a professional attitude and appearance
  • Commit to a drug-free and smoke-free work environment and be able to pass a drug screen
  • Provide references

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the ability to adequately perform the following tasks with little to no supervision:

  • Review construction plans and prepare material take-offs
  • Produce a production schedule
  • Complete selective residential demolition
  • Install basic interior trim and cabinetry
  • Correctly frame various structures
  • Install and flash windows and doors
  • Install vinyl, aluminum, and fiber cement siding
